Next Gen Marine Generators
Next Gen marine generators provide compact onboard power for sailing yachts, catamarans, trawlers, sport-fishing boats and smaller motor yachts. Available outputs from 3.5 kW to 9.5 kW can support battery chargers, refrigeration, lighting, water pumps, galley appliances, navigation systems and appropriately sized marine air-conditioning loads.
The Next Gen UCM1-3.5E 3.5 kW Marine Generator with Sound Shield delivers 120/240V output in a low-profile configuration suited to vessels with restricted machinery space. For greater electrical demand, the Next Gen UCM2-5.5 5.5 kW Marine Diesel Generator uses a two-cylinder Kubota diesel engine and is supplied without a sound shield. Open and sound-shield configurations are also available within the wider range.
These Kubota-powered marine generators operate at 2,800 RPM, providing a practical balance between compact dimensions and lower operating speed than many 3,600 RPM gensets. Depending on the selected model, features can include freshwater heat-exchanger cooling, a water-cooled exhaust, vibration-isolation mounts, safety shutdowns, a remote start panel and front-side service access. Sound-shield versions are available for installations where reduced operating noise is a priority.
Correct marine generator sizing requires more than adding the wattage of individual appliances. Continuous demand, motor-starting current, air-conditioning compressors, battery-charger capacity and future onboard loads must all be considered.
