MSS Motorsports UG supplies marine inboard engines for vessel repowers, replacement projects and new installations. Our range covers sailing yachts, motor yachts, fishing boats, canal boats, workboats, passenger craft and commercial vessels.

We supply engines from Yanmar, Cummins, Volvo Penta, Baudouin, BUKH, Canaline, Doosan, FNM, FPT, Hyundai SeasAll, JCB Mermaid, Lombardini, MerCruiser and Perkins. Depending on the manufacturer and model, an engine may be supplied separately, matched with a marine gearbox or configured with controls, an instrument panel, engine mounts and the required installation components.

Selecting the Correct Inboard Engine

A replacement engine should not be selected by horsepower alone. Vessel displacement, hull form, operating speed, annual running hours and intended duty all affect the required engine rating. Installation dimensions, weight, cooling arrangement, exhaust system, electrical voltage, controls and marine gearbox ratio must also be considered.

For a repower project, we recommend providing the existing engine make, model and serial number together with the gearbox model and reduction ratio. Photographs of the engine compartment, engine mounts, exhaust connection and identification plates can help us identify a suitable replacement and determine which existing components may be retained.

For a new vessel installation, the quotation can be prepared from the shipyard’s or naval architect’s propulsion specifications.

Every quotation identifies the exact engine model, rated output, declared condition, included components, available options and exclusions. Availability, estimated lead time, warranty conditions, packing, freight, payment terms and quotation validity are also stated in writing.

If the original model is no longer available, our OEM sourcing service may be used to locate an appropriate new or reconditioned alternative.
