Shipping and Delivery Policy

Effective Date: July 26, 2026

MSS Motorsports UG ships marine diesel engines, marine generators, gearboxes, propulsion systems, replacement parts, controls, and accessories within the United States and to approved international destinations.

Because marine products vary in size, weight, value, condition, and configuration, shipping methods, costs, and delivery times depend on the specific product and destination.

1. Order Processing

Orders are processed after:

  • Cleared payment has been received.
  • Product availability has been confirmed.
  • Billing and delivery information has been verified.
  • Technical specifications have been reviewed where required.
  • Any applicable fraud-prevention, identity, or export checks have been completed.

Stocked parts and accessories are generally prepared for shipment within 2–5 business days.

Complete engines, marine generators, gearboxes, drives, and propulsion packages may require additional processing time for:

  • Inventory allocation.
  • Product and serial-number confirmation.
  • Supplier or manufacturer release.
  • Inspection and preparation.
  • Programming or configuration.
  • Warranty documentation.
  • Crating and palletizing.
  • Freight booking.
  • Export documentation.

The estimated processing or lead time for large, special-order, reconditioned, remanufactured, or sourced products will be stated on the product page, quotation, proforma invoice, or order confirmation.

Handling time means the time required to prepare an order before it is released to the carrier.

Transit time means the time required by the carrier to transport the shipment after collection.

Business days exclude weekends and United States federal holidays.

2. Product Availability

Website availability and delivery estimates represent our reasonable assessment at the time shown but are not guaranteed unless expressly confirmed in writing.

A product is not reserved or allocated until:

  • The required payment has cleared; and
  • MSS Motorsports UG has confirmed the order in writing.

Product availability may change because of prior sale, supplier allocation, manufacturer delays, discontinuation, customs restrictions, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

If an order cannot be shipped within the stated or accepted period, we will contact the customer with available options, which may include:

  • Accepting a revised shipping date.
  • Selecting an alternative product.
  • Removing the delayed item from the order.
  • Canceling the affected unshipped item for a refund.

3. Domestic Shipping Within the United States

Domestic orders may be shipped by:

  • Standard parcel carrier.
  • Expedited parcel service.
  • Less-than-truckload freight.
  • Full truckload freight.
  • Dedicated transport.
  • Customer-arranged pickup or collection.

Small parts and accessories are generally shipped by parcel carrier.

Complete engines, generators, gearboxes, drives, and propulsion packages are normally shipped on commercial pallets, in protective crates, or on approved shipping frames.

The shipping method used will depend on the product’s:

  • Size and weight.
  • Value.
  • Freight classification.
  • Packaging requirements.
  • Delivery address.
  • Required delivery service.

4. Less-Than-Truckload and Full-Truckload Freight

Less-than-truckload freight, commonly called LTL freight, is used when a shipment occupies only part of a freight trailer.

LTL shipments may pass through several freight terminals and may be handled more than once during transportation.

Full-truckload freight, commonly called FTL freight, may be used for multiple engines, generators, large orders, or shipments requiring a dedicated trailer.

FTL transportation generally involves fewer transfers but may cost more than LTL freight.

5. Commercial, Residential, and Limited-Access Delivery

Customers must provide complete and accurate information about the delivery location before freight is booked.

Please advise whether the location is:

  • A commercial warehouse.
  • A residential address.
  • A marina.
  • A boatyard.
  • A shipyard.
  • A construction site.
  • A farm or private property.
  • A military or government facility.
  • A location with restricted truck access.

Freight carriers may classify marinas, boatyards, shipyards, schools, construction sites, military facilities, and similar destinations as limited-access locations.

Residential and limited-access deliveries may be subject to additional charges.

6. Loading Dock, Forklift, Crane, and Liftgate Requirements

The customer must confirm whether the receiving location has:

  • A commercial loading dock.
  • A forklift.
  • A crane.
  • Suitable lifting equipment.
  • Trained personnel available to unload the shipment.

A liftgate is a hydraulic platform fitted to the rear of a freight truck. Liftgate service may be required when the delivery location does not have a loading dock or forklift.

Liftgate service must be requested before delivery and may involve an additional charge.

Some engines, generators, and propulsion units may be too large or heavy for standard liftgate service. In such cases, the customer may need to:

  • Collect the shipment from a freight terminal.
  • Arrange a suitable forklift or crane.
  • Provide an alternative commercial delivery location.
  • Arrange specialized unloading services.

Freight carriers generally do not provide:

  • Product installation.
  • Unpacking.
  • Crane operation.
  • Forklift service.
  • Movement beyond the normal delivery point.

7. Domestic Shipping Charges

Domestic shipping charges may be:

  • Calculated at checkout.
  • Confirmed after reviewing the delivery address.
  • Included in a written quotation.
  • Invoiced separately when specialized freight arrangements are required.

Shipping costs may include:

  • Base freight charges.
  • Fuel surcharges.
  • Crating or palletizing.
  • Cargo insurance.
  • Residential delivery.
  • Limited-access delivery.
  • Liftgate service.
  • Delivery appointment.
  • Terminal handling.
  • Expedited transportation.

Any shipping amount payable to MSS Motorsports UG will be disclosed before the order is completed or stated in the applicable quotation or invoice.

Additional charges caused by incorrect or incomplete delivery information are the customer’s responsibility.

8. International Shipping and Export Orders

MSS Motorsports UG ships to selected international destinations, subject to:

  • Product availability.
  • Carrier coverage.
  • Export-control requirements.
  • Trade restrictions.
  • Manufacturer or supplier restrictions.
  • Destination-country import requirements.

International orders may be shipped by:

  • International parcel carrier.
  • Air freight.
  • Ocean freight.
  • Freight forwarder.
  • Customer-appointed logistics provider.

International delivery may be arranged to:

  • A seaport.
  • An airport.
  • A freight terminal.
  • A customs-bonded warehouse.
  • A commercial address.
  • A customer-appointed freight forwarder.

The agreed destination and shipping scope will be stated in the quotation, invoice, or shipping confirmation.

9. Incoterms and International Shipping Responsibilities

International quotations may use Incoterms® 2020 rules published by the International Chamber of Commerce.

The applicable Incoterm and named delivery location will be stated in the quotation or commercial invoice.

Common terms may include:

  • EXW – Ex Works: The customer arranges collection, main transportation, insurance, export formalities, and import clearance from the named location.
  • FCA – Free Carrier: MSS Motorsports UG delivers the shipment to the named carrier or location according to the stated terms.
  • CPT – Carriage Paid To: MSS Motorsports UG pays transportation to the named destination, while risk transfers according to the applicable Incoterm.
  • CIP – Carriage and Insurance Paid To: MSS Motorsports UG pays transportation and obtains cargo insurance to the named destination, subject to the agreed coverage.
  • DAP – Delivered at Place: MSS Motorsports UG arranges delivery to the named destination, while the customer normally handles import clearance, duties, and taxes.
  • DDP – Delivered Duty Paid: MSS Motorsports UG arranges delivery and import charges only when this term is expressly stated and confirmed in writing.

When no Incoterm is stated, the quotation and written shipping instructions will determine the parties’ responsibilities.

10. Importer of Record

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the international customer or consignee will act as the Importer of Record.

The Importer of Record is responsible for:

  • Import permits.
  • Customs registration.
  • Customs declarations.
  • Destination-country certification.
  • Customs duties.
  • Import VAT, GST, or similar taxes.
  • Customs brokerage.
  • Government inspections.
  • Local product registration.
  • Destination storage and demurrage.
  • Compliance with local laws and regulations.

The customer must appoint a qualified customs broker where required.

MSS Motorsports UG is not responsible for delays caused by incomplete or incorrect import documentation, unpaid destination charges, government inspections, or destination-country restrictions.

11. International Shipping Documents

Depending on the shipment and destination, MSS Motorsports UG may provide:

  • Commercial invoice.
  • Packing list.
  • Bill of Lading.
  • Air waybill.
  • Certificate of origin, where available or required.
  • Export declaration.
  • Product specifications.
  • Manufacturer documentation supplied with the product.

The customer is responsible for confirming all destination-country documentation and import requirements before shipment.

Additional expenses caused by incorrect, incomplete, or late customer information are the customer’s responsibility.

12. Duties, Taxes, and Destination Charges

Unless expressly included in the written quotation, international shipping prices do not include:

  • Customs duties.
  • Import VAT or GST.
  • Brokerage charges.
  • Port charges.
  • Airport handling fees.
  • Customs examination fees.
  • Terminal handling.
  • Storage.
  • Demurrage.
  • Import permits.
  • Local delivery.
  • Government charges.

These amounts are normally paid by the customer directly to the carrier, customs broker, freight forwarder, port, or government authority.

Duties, taxes, tariffs, and third-party destination fees are generally not refundable by MSS Motorsports UG.

13. Shipping Insurance

Carrier liability may be limited and may not equal the full value of the shipment.

Cargo insurance may be:

  • Included in the written shipping quotation.
  • Offered as an additional charge.
  • Arranged by the customer.
  • Arranged by the customer’s freight forwarder.

Customers should review the quotation to confirm whether cargo insurance is included.

Customers arranging their own transportation are responsible for obtaining insurance that adequately covers the full product value.

14. Shipping Confirmation and Tracking

Where available, customers will receive shipping information such as:

  • Parcel tracking number.
  • Freight carrier name.
  • PRO number.
  • Bill of Lading number.
  • Air waybill number.
  • Ocean freight booking information.
  • Estimated arrival information.
  • Delivery appointment details.

A PRO number is the tracking number assigned to an LTL freight shipment.

Tracking information may not update immediately after the shipment has been collected.

Delivery dates shown by carriers are estimates unless expressly guaranteed in writing.

15. Delivery Appointments

Freight carriers may contact the customer or consignee to arrange a delivery appointment.

Customers must provide:

  • A working telephone number.
  • A valid email address.
  • Accurate delivery instructions.

The customer may be responsible for additional charges resulting from:

  • Missed delivery appointments.
  • Redelivery.
  • Waiting time.
  • Address corrections.
  • Reconsignment.
  • Terminal storage.
  • Failure to provide unloading facilities.

16. Delivery Inspection

The customer or authorized consignee must inspect the shipment before signing the carrier’s delivery receipt or Proof of Delivery.

Check for:

  • Broken or crushed crates.
  • Punctured packaging.
  • Missing or broken straps.
  • Damaged pallets.
  • Fluid leakage.
  • Missing packages.
  • Opened or resealed packaging.
  • Signs of tipping, dropping, or impact.
  • Activated tilt or shock indicators.
  • Visible product damage.

Visible damage or shortages must be described clearly on the carrier’s delivery receipt before signing.

Do not write only “subject to inspection.” Describe the visible condition as accurately as possible.

Examples include:

  • “Crate damaged on right side.”
  • “Packaging punctured.”
  • “One package missing.”
  • “Shipment appears tilted.”
  • “Visible fluid leakage.”

Take clear photographs of:

  • Every side of the shipment.
  • The damaged area.
  • Crate, pallet, or packaging.
  • Shipping labels.
  • Product labels and serial numbers.
  • Delivery documentation.

17. Concealed Damage

Concealed damage means damage discovered after the packaging has been removed and which was not reasonably visible at delivery.

Concealed damage must be reported as soon as it is discovered.

The customer must retain:

  • The original crate.
  • Pallet.
  • Internal packaging.
  • Shipping labels.
  • Damaged components.
  • Delivery documents.

Do not install, operate, dismantle, repair, or discard the product or packaging until instructions have been provided.

18. Damaged, Missing, or Incorrect Shipments

Damaged, missing, or incorrect shipments must be reported within 72 hours of delivery.

  • Description of the issue.
  • Photographs of the product.

Depending on the circumstances, MSS Motorsports UG may:

  • Supply a missing component.
  • Send the correct product.
  • Arrange repair or replacement.
  • Coordinate a carrier claim.
  • Approve a partial or full refund.
  • Provide another appropriate resolution.

Failure to report or document shipping damage promptly may affect our ability to assist with a carrier claim. This requirement does not limit any right that cannot legally be excluded.

19. Customer-Arranged Freight and Collection

Customer-arranged freight or pickup must be approved in advance.

Products will only be released after:

  • Full cleared payment has been received.
  • The order is prepared and ready.
  • The collecting carrier or person has been identified.
  • Required collection documents have been provided.
  • The collection appointment has been confirmed.

The customer or appointed carrier is responsible for:

  • Providing a suitable vehicle.
  • Securing the shipment.
  • Cargo insurance.
  • Transportation permits.
  • Export documentation, where applicable.
  • Customs clearance.
  • Safe handling after collection.

Responsibility for transportation will transfer according to the agreed shipping terms, quotation, invoice, or applicable Incoterm.

20. Refused and Undeliverable Shipments

Customers should not refuse a shipment solely because they have changed their mind or no longer require the product.

A refused or undeliverable shipment may result in charges for:

  • Original shipping.
  • Return freight.
  • Carrier handling.
  • Storage.
  • Redelivery.
  • Reconsignment.
  • Customs or brokerage.
  • Applicable restocking fees.

The customer is responsible for additional costs caused by:

  • An incorrect delivery address.
  • An unavailable receiver.
  • Failure to arrange suitable unloading equipment.
  • Failure to attend a scheduled delivery.
  • Failure to collect freight from a terminal.
  • Failure to provide customs documents.
  • Failure to pay destination duties or taxes.

If a shipment is refused because of visible damage, the customer should record the damage on the carrier’s documents, take photographs, and contact MSS Motorsports UG immediately.

21. Delivery Delays

Delivery dates are estimates unless expressly guaranteed in writing.

Delivery may be delayed by:

  • Severe weather.
  • Carrier capacity.
  • Port congestion.
  • Customs inspections.
  • Government action.
  • Public holidays.
  • Remote delivery locations.
  • Supplier or manufacturer delays.
  • Transportation disruptions.
  • Events beyond our reasonable control.

When an order cannot be shipped within the stated or accepted period, we will provide an updated estimate and, where required, allow the customer to accept the delay or cancel the affected unshipped item for a refund.

Customers should not schedule vessel haul-out, installation, crane services, technicians, travel, launching, or commercial operations until the product has been delivered and inspected.

22. Address Changes

Address-change requests must be submitted before the shipment is released to the carrier.

Contact:

sales@mssmotorsportsug.com

An address change is not effective until confirmed in writing.

Address changes requested after shipment may result in:

  • Address-correction fees.
  • Reconsignment charges.
  • Storage charges.
  • Delivery delays.
  • Redelivery charges.

High-value orders shipped to an address different from the billing address may require additional verification.

23. Split Shipments

Orders containing multiple products may be shipped separately when:

  • Products are stored at different locations.
  • Items have different lead times.
  • Parcel and freight products require different carriers.
  • A partial shipment has been approved.

Any additional customer-paid shipping costs will be disclosed before shipment.

24. Returns and Shipping Claims

Approved returns are governed by our Returns and Refunds Policy.

Products must not be returned without prior written authorization.

A freight-damage claim is separate from an ordinary return. Damaged products must remain available for inspection by MSS Motorsports UG, the carrier, insurer, manufacturer, or another authorized party.

25. Legal Rights

This policy is intended to comply with applicable United States federal and state consumer-protection requirements.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits a right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded.

Where applicable law provides greater rights than this policy, applicable law will control.
