Marine Diesel Generators
MSS Motorsports UG supplies marine generators for sailing yachts, motor yachts, fishing boats, workboats, passenger vessels and commercial marine applications. Our range includes Kohler, Cummins Onan, Fischer Panda, Lombardini, Mase, MasPower, MER Commercial, Nanni, Next Gen, Northern Lights, Paguro, Phasor, Thornycroft, Vetus and Westerbeke marine generators.
Models are available in different kW and kVA ratings, with 50 Hz or 60 Hz frequency, single-phase or three-phase output and various voltage configurations. Depending on the selected model, supply may include a sound enclosure, remote control panel, wiring harness, anti-vibration mounts and installation components.

Selecting the Correct Marine Generator
A marine generator should be selected from the vessel’s actual electrical load, not simply from vessel length. The calculation should include continuous loads, intermittent loads and the starting current required by motors and compressors.
Important loads may include:
- Air-conditioning systems
- Refrigeration and freezers
- Watermakers
- Battery chargers and inverters
- Galley appliances
- Navigation and communication systems
- Pumps and hydraulic systems
- Lighting and entertainment systems
- Workshop or commercial operating loads
The largest motor-starting load must also be considered. Air-conditioning compressors, pumps and refrigeration motors can require considerably more power during startup than during normal operation. A generator that is too small may suffer voltage drops, frequency instability or repeated overload shutdowns. An unnecessarily oversized generator may operate inefficiently at consistently light loads.
Frequency, Voltage and Phase
The generator’s electrical specification must match the vessel’s distribution system and connected appliances. A 50 Hz generator should not be ordered for a 60 Hz vessel unless the complete electrical system has been reviewed for compatibility.
Before preparing a quotation, the following must be confirmed:
- Required power in kW or kVA
- 50 Hz or 60 Hz frequency
- Single-phase or three-phase output
- Required operating voltage
- Continuous and maximum electrical load
- Largest motor or compressor starting load
- Available installation dimensions
- Cooling and exhaust arrangement
- Starting-battery voltage
- Open or sound-enclosed configuration
- Vessel type and intended operating duty
Replacement Marine Generators
For a replacement project, provide the existing generator make, model, serial number, rated output, voltage, frequency and phase. Photographs of the identification plate, generator compartment, exhaust connection, seawater connections and electrical terminals are also useful.
We review the dimensions, electrical specification, mounting arrangement and service access before proposing a replacement. When the original model is discontinued, a current alternative may be identified through our OEM sourcing service.
Generator Supply and Quotation Details
Depending on the selected manufacturer and model, MSS Motorsports UG can quote:
- Generator set only
- Open or sound-enclosed generator
- Remote control or monitoring panel
- Wiring harnesses and connection cables
- Anti-vibration mounts
- Wet-exhaust components
- Seawater strainers and cooling components
- Fuel filters and water separators
- Installation and commissioning parts
- Routine maintenance and service kits
Every quotation identifies the exact model, declared condition, rated output, voltage, frequency, phase, engine speed, included components, available options and exclusions. Availability, estimated lead time, warranty conditions, packing, freight, payment terms and quotation validity are also confirmed in writing.
